KNITTED POLYESTER FASCIA PROSTHESES - POLYESTER MESH

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS

Knitted polyester fascia prostheses with  a-jour structure are manufactured in 3 different kinds depending on the density (loop diameter), weight and strength. The choice of a specific mesh depends on purpose and kind of operation.
Thermally stabilized meshes feature permanent surface dimensions.
Pattern selection prevents roving and fraying at the edges.

DALLOP® prostheses:

·        do not invoke inflammatory reactions

·        are impervious to systemic fluids

·        have mechanical strength

·        are easily stored

INDICATIONS FOR CLINICAL USE
Clinical use of DALLOP® prostheses is plausible in surgery of primary hernias, recurrant hernias, periosseous plastic surgery, diaphragm defects, muscle hernias.
Moreover, DALLOP® prostheses can be used as an external cover for vascular tissue grafts in arterial surgery in order to suspend descending “mobile kidney”, etc. There is a specific indication for abdominal eventrations where the wound cannot be closed.
Polyster prostheses should be used only in those cases where reconstructive operations without additional materials or autografts cannot be performed and where homogenic grafts are not recommended.
Polyester meshes should be fixed to tissues with single polyester sutures. Flax, silk or catgut threads are not recommended.
With exception to undisputed indications such as abdominal eventrations, polyester meshes should be implemented only in non-infected wounds where maintenance of strict surgical aseptics is possible.

DALLOP® bands for applications in urology in size (length x width x width) 580 mm x 30 mm (in the mid-length) x 20 mm at the ends.

1. Indications for clinical use:
DALLOP® bands are used in surgical treatment of urinary incontinence in women. The method is ligation of the neck of the urinary bladder. This method is recommended as the standard one, especially, for treatment of advanced forms of excercise urinary incontinence in patients who have been unsuccessfully operated on before.
2. Technical characteristics:
The band is manufactured from polyester knit type DALLOP® with the loop diameter
of 1,00 mm. The shape of the band fits the operational technique.

Measurements:

·        total length = 580 mm

·        length after bending = 290 mm

·        width (at the ends) = 20 mm

·        width at mid-length = 30 mm

STERILIZATION
Polyester meshes are sold as a sterile material. Colored marker on the package inside the box indicates radiative sterilization performed on the material. The marker darkens under radiation.

STORAGE

DALLOP® surgical meshes ought to be stored in airy dark rooms in conditions preventing wetting and damaging, either mechanical or chemical.
