COMPRESSION GARMENTS
CHARACTERISTICS

CODOPRESS® compression garments provide:

·        well fitted compression on the scar

·        ability to be used with other types of therapy

·        stop to skin allergy or irritation

·        reduction of itching

·        protection against joint contracture

THERAPY

Depending on the size and place of scars, a compression therapy can take from 6 months to 2 years. The end of the therapy is in each case determined by the appropriate doctor. Patients who use CODOPRESS® on regular basis can observe implicit effects of this therapy: their scars flatten, soften and turn pale in colour. The therapy improves the patients’ mobility which helps them avoid joint contracture.

A complete therapy usually demands changing the old CODOPRESS® compression garments for the new ones, depending on their tear and wear as well as the change in patients’ sizes (especially in children).

All types of CODOPRESS® compression garments are custom made. In order to purchase one of them a patient is requested to contact the company by phone.

HOW TO USE CODOPRESS®

Patients wear their compression garments 24 hours a day, with breaks for a bath and massage.
Children under 1,5 years are advised to be dressed in compression garments in 3 to 4 hour time
periods with 1 to 2 hour breaks. This is due to possible bad changes in their bone system.
The patients should become accustomed to wearing their compression garments thus starting using them for 30 minutes at the beginning of their therapy. At first, there may appear some swelling on the peripheral parts of body safe from compression, which usually disappears after a couple of days.
