THE RANGE OF ABDOCLICK ZIPPERS

- One-layer zippers for children and slim people.

- Two-layer zippers for obese people, with well established fat tissue.

INDICATIONS FOR CLINICAL USE

ABDOCLICK zippers can be used where frequent laparostomy is necessary (appr. Every 2-3 days):

·  Pancreatic necrosis – necrotomy of secreting dead pancreatic fragments, irrigation, drainage.

·  Mesenteric thrombosis – resection and reoperation of small intestine in order to check intestinal anastomosis and viability.

·  Interintestinal abscess peritonitis – opening of purulent cisterns, irrigation, drainage.

·  Abdominal injuries with contamination.

·  Intestinal torsions and intussusceptions.

INDICTATIONS FOR SUTURING
It is recommended to use 0 or 1 Amfil threads to suture the zippers.

SUTURING OF ONE-LAYER ZIPPERS
The zipper is sutured when unzipped. The lateral flaps are placed between peritoneum and intestines prior to suturing. Aponeurosis and peritoneum are joined with the knit with a continuous suture as close to the zipper band as possible. A special attention should be focused on intestines by protecting them against accidental piercing. When the zipper has been sutured it is covered by tampons soaked in physiological saline with bactericide (e.g. Povidone).

SUTURING OF TWO-LAYER ZIPPERS
This zipper differs form the previous one in having additional layer of a-jour knit. The first smooth knit layer is handled as in case of the one-layer zipper. The second a-jour layer is sutured to the skin with the knit put outside. The zipper is protected by a tampon soaked in physiological saline with bactericide.

NOTE – In order to keep the tampons humid and save tissue from becoming dry they should be moistened several times during day and night.

STERILIZATION
The zippers are sold as sterile. Coloured marker on the package inside the box indicates radiation sterilization performed on the material. The marker darkens under radiation indicating complete product sterility.
